The questions/comments on the article get to the point pretty quickly. It's highly vulnerable, so it saves crew only, if the resupply or ex filtration is vital, this is not a highly reliable approach. It's a big UAV and will be a target with lower evasion ability.

Saving crew however, may be huge. If you can "pilot" two or three remotely it might mean more missions per training investment, and nobody needs bodies from a blackhawk down.

It also does repurpose old frames, and it would be interesting for its carrying capacity. Possibly good value for money.
